About Us

Guna Vibes, a tourist transportation company, was born from the heart of Gunayala (San Blas), with indigenous owners native to Gunayala. We are pleased to be not only a means of transportation, but also a direct connection to the rich cultural and natural heritage of this magnificent archipelago.

Indigenous Origins

At Guna Vibes, we value and celebrate our indigenous roots. Our owners are indigenous members of the Guna community, which allows us to offer our travelers a unique, authentic and respectful experience with the local culture.

Certification of the Guna General Congress

Guna Vibes is certified by the Guna General Congress, a distinction that reflects our unwavering commitment to ethical and sustainable principles.

This certification is not only a seal of quality, but also a guarantee that we operate in a responsible manner, respecting Guna traditions and contributing to the well-being of the community.

Guna Yala

Gunayala is an indigenous territory governed by the Guna people. This territory comprises a narrow strip of land on the Caribbean side of Panama and a group of 365 islands, of which only 50 are inhabited by the Guna.

These islands are also known as the San Blas Islands and are considered an outstanding destination in Panama due to their well-preserved natural beauty, cared for by the indigenous Guna community.

The guna are renowned for creating the famous molas, traditional weavings made from layers of elaborately colored fabrics that form patterns and images inspired by their cosmogenic beliefs. Molas represent the Guna vision of a colorful and mythological world, and are incredible and unique souvenirs.

The flag of the Guna Revolution adopted in 1925

The Guna people led a resistance movement in response to the oppression and colonial policies imposed by the Panamanian government.

The flag of the Guna Revolution has three horizontal stripes: the upper and lower stripes are red, while the central stripe is yellow. Above the yellow stripe, an inverted swastika is represented.

Each color of the flag has its own symbolic meaning: the red represents the blood shed by the Guna people in the struggle, the yellow symbolizes the natural and cultural wealth of the region, and the swastika represents a medicinal plant called aggébandur, used to obtain knowledge and pointing to the four cardinal points.
